Hello,

My name is James and welcome to the Furry Friends pet store. This store is dedicated to my dog Bear who I just recently lost in May 2024. I first found Bear while working as a security contractor in Afghanistan and I fell in love with him immediately. He was so tiny and looked just like a baby polar bear so that’s how he got his name.

I knew right away that I wanted to keep him and take him home with me so I contacted a non profit organization called Nowzad https://www.nowzad.com/ based out of Kabul, Afghanistan and they helped me take care of him not only as I travelled from base to base but also helped me get him back to the United States. I had to initially put up $2500 and they started a Go Fund Me account and helped me raise another $2500 to board, feed, and get all his shots so he could be shipped back to the U.S. I got him back home and he lived a very happy and loved life, he was an amazing guard dog and a perfect family dog.

I will share more stories about Bear on the blog pages of this site in the future. It is my absolute goal to make this the best online pet store by offering pet products made in the U.S.A. and preserving his memory in the process.
